What great news!

The High Court has ruled against the closure of dance bars in Maharashtra.

So now there is going to be great dancing in the bars of Mumbai.

About 9 months ago Maharashtra Govt. had banned Dance Bars in the State.

Reason? They alleged that the girls were actually involved in prostitution.

The ban actually had just the opposite effect. A few thousand Dance Bar Girls were suddenly lost their livelihood overnight and were actually forced to go into prostitution.

So the medicine actually resulted in being the cause of the ailment.

This is really weird.

The Maharashtra Govt. had suddenly become Self Appointed Moral Police.

Most of these girls were actually girls earning a livelihood in a very legitimate way. A few may have been actually involved in prostitution, but they were probably a small minority. Does this require the banning of the tribe of Bar Girls – if I may say so?

Recently about 11 of our Members of Parliament were found to be accepting bribes and accepting money for asking Questions in the Parliament and were subsequently thrown out of Parliament. Drawing parallels from Maharashtra Govt.’s action should Parliament be banned?

Very recently the Great Protectors of Morality were embroiled in another titillating incident. There was a “Wardrobe Malfunction” during a fashion Show in Mumbai – resulting in the exposure of the Female Anatomy. The MLA’s were naturally worried. The Police were asked to investigate and examine the matter. The Police questioned various people in the Fashion Industry as well as others and submitted a report the incident was purely accidental.

The MLA’s were not impressed. The MLA’s and the Shiv Sena have decided to investigate the matter a little further and are believed to be studying the video footages.

One wag said that this shows perversion and the people were “Sex Starved”

There is now another aspect of the ‘Ban the Bar Girls’ issue. Certain sections of “Power” are ruing the banning as it has hurt their pockets.

The Godfathers have been seriously inconvenienced owing to the source of Protection Money been removed in one stroke. Now their smile has reappeared with the latest High Court ruling.

The Maharashtra Govt. has also decided to approach the Supreme Court against the High Court’s decision.

Just goes to show how pigheaded our politicians can be.
